Background information for lessons & rentals
What is your lesson and rental location?
Our office is located at our home address in the center of Willemstad, in the Saliña neighborhood: Monteursweg 25. However, we primarily operate at Kite Beach in Sint Joris Bay, where we usually meet for lessons or gear rentals. Sint Joris is a safe, quiet, long bay on the untouched northeastern side of the island. You can find more information about the location at KiteBeachCuracao.com.
For rentals lasting one or more days, equipment can also be picked up at our office in Saliña.
What are your opening times?
We don’t have set opening hours, as we take a flexible approach. We operate on an appointment basis, and when you rent gear or schedule a lesson with us, we’ll arrange the time and place together. It’s best to connect with us via our contact form or WhatsApp (see the button at the bottom right), and we can schedule when and where to meet.
Do you provide services at other wing spots around the island?
Yes, we do. However, based on our experience, we prefer to first schedule a session at Kite Beach to check the equipment and assess the skill levels of those we take out on the open sea. Open sea conditions require a higher level of experience, so we want to ensure that everyone we take to these spots is capable of handling them. We also believe it’s best to get comfortable surfing in a safer bay before embarking on sea adventures together.
What about leases, helmets and vests?
The boards and wings we rent come with basic leashes (for hand or ankle attachment). The boards also come with bolts. We charge a small extra fee for helmets, water shoes, vests, and waist harnesses, depending on the type and size, ranging from $5 to $10.
Do you ask for deposits when renting gear?
We only ask for a deposit (and a copy of your passport) when you pick up equipment at our office. Deposit amounts can vary depending on the type of gear rented. For rentals at Kite Beach, we don’t require a deposit, as we are there to instruct you on gear setup and use.
How do I get to Kitebeach?
Drive to the Ostrich Farm, pass the farm entrance, and follow the dirt road down the hill to the shoreline. On your left, you will see a sign that says “Private terrein” (approximately 100 m from the shoreline). Enter through the white wooden gate there and drive to the containers, where you can park. Or simple seach in Google maps for “Kitebeach Curacao”.
